Discernment and Intuition

I think two of the greatest gifts any of us can have are intuition and discernment.

Most of us understand intuition as those small whispers, cautions, warning blips or flags.  Hopefully, we stop to listen and that’s where discernment can really help us out.

Discernment, then, is really about having (or developing) the ability to weed out the clutter, the noise, and get to the point of being able to hear our intuition and get to the heart of the matter.  It’s an intangible tool that serves us in the tangible world. It lives in close proximity to our souls and we need to use it.

Intuition gives us a sense of what is right for us; discernment can help us put that sense of “rightness” into practice. But one of the greatest dangers to our intuition and discernment is other voices coming along to offer advice – well-intentioned or…
